Donate to the 10 Day Film Challenge
In 2011, four high school film production teachers saw a need for their students. There were very few, if any, opportunities for student filmmakers to showcase their original films in a theatrical setting. Furthermore, none of them were free or offered curricular guidance.
So, together, these four teachers developed the 10 Day Film Challenge where students are guided, through curriculum, for 10 days of competitive filmmaking in order to produce an original short film. This event culminated in a free theatrical screening of the top films. In 2011, 280 students participated in three New Jersey high schools.
In 2014, the 10 Day Film Challenge impacted more than 2,000 students in over 50 schools throughout six states. There is, no doubt, a need for this type of event for students and teachers.
Your support can help us (1) bring the 10 Day Film Challenge to every state in the US, (2) keep this a free event for students and staff and (3) support under-privileged students while giving them the ability to equitably compete in the 10 Day Film Challenge.
10 Day Inc, is a non-profit corporation designed to support the 10 Day Film Challenge. The mission of the 10 Day, Inc is:
- To bring the 10 Day Film Challenge to every state in the USA, affording high school students from every state the opportunity to compete in a free comprehensive film competition that not only improves their digital literacy, but tests the skills they have developed in digital media and technology through their school's Film and Video Production curriculum.
- To support our 10 Day Dreams Initiative by using the resources we amass as a means to bring awareness of -- and acquire resources for -- Film and Video Production programs in schools in under-privileged communities so they may equitably compete in this filmmaking process and beyond.
