10 Day Music Video Challenge
YOUR OBJECTIVE: Create a music video in 10 school days!
THE BASICS: On Day 1, you will be assigned a group of songs to choose from. You simply choose a song from our list and off you go! On Day 10, the music video is due.
THE SONGS: Genres will range from American Rock, British Rock, R&B, and Hip Hop. You will get the song list on Day 1. You must choose 1 of our given songs.
THE RULES: (1) You must do it in 10 school days plus BONUS TIME. (2) You must be school appropriate for production and potential viewing. (3) PG-13 rules apply. (4) There are no other required elements except to use one of OUR songs. (5) You are NOT limited to school time only. All participants can have BONUS TIME to work, such as nights, weekends, at home, etc... are all okay. Whatever works for you and your filmmaking team.
HOW TO SUBMIT: You will post your video on YouTube and send us the link through a form we will email to you on Day 10.
- TITLE YOUR VIDEO on YOUTUBE as: "Name of Song by Name of Band // 10 Day Music Video Challenge 2017-18"
- DESCRIPTION on YOUTUBE: Include the name of the MAIN CONTACT PERSON who signed up your group.
- SUBMIT THE VIDEO: Use an online form that WE will email to YOU. EACH MUSIC VIDEO CREATOR submits their own video.
HOW TO JOIN: Complete the registration below and include payment at time of registration.
WHO CAN JOIN: Any teacher can register their class(es) or any individual student who is currently (or formerly) affiliated with a film class or club. This does NOT have to be a class project.
TEACHERS can register as a class if they choose.
STUDENTS can register themselves if they choose. You MUST be either a former or current film student in your high school.
THE COST: $20 per music video that will be produced. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit and use this competition as a fundraiser to support all of the 10 Day Programs worldwide.
TEACHERS...if you are registering your class, you need to pay for EACH video to be submitted. $20 per ($200 max for unlimited)
STUDENTS...if you are registering yourselves, you need to pay on your own. $20 per music video to be submitted.
* No refunds will be granted for videos that were never produced or submitted. Be accurate when registering.
ALL PAYMENTS are due when you sign up for this competition below (NOT when you submit the finished video)
THE END RESULT: Once all videos are submitted, the participating musicians who supplied the songs will view the videos and choose the winner.
THE WINNERS: There will be one (1) winner per song. Winning videos will (a) be promoted on the band/artists website with credit to the winner (b) screen at all 10 Day Film Challenge events. Other awards to be determined by the participating musicians may apply.
