Possible disqualifications: Listed in official Filmmaking Rules
The 10 Day Film Challenge organizers/judges may, in their sole discretion, DISQUALIFY entries deemed to be inappropriate (including but not limited to the use of alcohol, tobacco, firearms, no wielding knives as weapons, profanity or sexual content not appropriate for school viewing) or otherwise non-compliant as per ANY of the rules of the 10 Day Film Challenge. DISQUALIFICATIONS may specifically result from inaccurate reading/presentation of the required line of dialogue; inaccurate identification of the required character and backstory; inaccurate identification of the required prop; or inaccurate identification of the genre.
The judging process: How does it work?
There are 2 rounds of judging for all films.
Round 1: Occurs just days after your specific Day 10. These judges consist of 10 Day Film Challenge Teacher Mentors (not judging their home state), college film students, former 10 Day Film students who are pursuing a career in film, and/or industry professionals and educators. These judges determine the Top 30 films in each Challenge.
Round 2: These are the Top 30 films. The Top 30 films are judged by industry professionals, industry educators, and/or judges that have successfully served with the 10 Day as a 'Round 1' judge for a minimum of 3 years. Teacher Mentor scores (which are not part of their home state) will also factor into this round of judging.
